Theme and basic information

Set in the depth of a dark jungle, we’re looking at stacks of ancient totem masks. Whilst quite colourful, they’re also somewhat gruesome to look at as they are rather ugly faces and rough on the edges.

The background sound is giving us various drums and flutes, which makes for rhythmic and surprisingly easy listening. You will inevitably find yourself grooving along when playing this slot. Honestly, we enjoyed the musical accompaniment almost more than spinning the reels.

The very ugly and still very colourful totems are the high-paying symbols here. The red and orange mask is worth 400 coins for a 5-of-a-kind win. The purple one is worth 250 coins, the green 200 and the blue one is still worth 150 coins in such a winning combination. The card suit symbols (hearts, clubs, spades and diamonds) match the totem masks in colour and style.

The golden Wild has also been fashioned to look like a totem mask.

Conclusion: A colourful slot with one simple but effective feature

The theoretical RTP (Return to Player) of Big Blox is 96.2%. That’s decent value, though not the best we’ve seen from Yggdrasil Gaming. This slow is low in volatility and wins tend to be frequent but small. Bigger wins will occur when you get bigger blocks on the reels, though. We’ve managed to get over 200x our bet once.

In theory, however, you could win up to 3,888x your stake, which will only happen if you manage to get the biggest block possible on the reels.

Big Blox can be a lot of fun when things are going your way. But those big blocks can also disappoint, when they don’t show up with a symbol that is useful for you or don’t land in a beneficial position on the reels.
