BetSoft Gaming was founded in 1999 and are particularly well known for their impressive range of 3D slots. The company is licensed and located in Malta and works with a large number of online casinos. Learn more here about the online software developer.
Although BetSoft has been around since 1999, they’re still not considered to be among the biggest and longest standing casino software developers. In fact, there’s very little information to be found from their early days and only in 2008 did they truly make an impact when they started to develop their range of 3D slots. You may even read in some places that the company was only founded in 2008, which would be incorrect.
BetSoft is widely available at online casinos, even catering to US-facing online casinos. Whilst they have a reputation to make awesome looking games that offer intricate gameplay, the company has received some unfavourable news in the past. They’ve been accused of running non-random keno games back in 2010 and there have also been allegations that they refused to pay out a large Bitcoin win last year, claiming that the win had been inadmissible, because it was made during the free spin bonus.
As it is, BetSoft slots have been more widely criticised for below-average RTPs here and there. About a third of their games have RTPs below 95% with some being significantly below 94%.
Additionally BetSoft lost their Alderney Gambling license in 2014. At first Alderney suspended the license and scheduled a hearing for review. But before the hearing took place, BetSoft voluntarily surrendered the license and has been without it since. No official reason was ever given for the suspension and BetSoft never made a statement either. But it certainly leaves one wondering.

BetSoft may be best known for their 3D slots, but the developer makes a full range of casino games, including video poker and other games. The quality of the games cannot be called into question and they enjoy quite the popularity with players. In total BetSoft currently offers over 120 games.
Slots – BetSoft’s claim to fame are without a doubt their 3D slots. They come in a large variety of themes, almost always start with a 3D animated feature opening that introduces us to the theme, often in stunning graphic detail, and they offer quite a nice range of bonus features. We’ve rarely found ourselves bored with BetSoft slots. That said, whilst the graphics are of very high quality, sometimes a little less would be better, because there is usually so much detail on the reels and even in the background that it seems somewhat cluttered and simply too much to look at.
Still, the games provide fun and great entertainment. Some of their titles include:
Some of BetSoft’s characters are really quite comical, which adds to the entertainment value of the games.
Table Games – BetSoft has currently 21 table games available. They’re graphically really well done and the selection of games is surprisingly extensive, not simply reduced to Roulette and Blackjack. You’ll also find Red Dog and Pai Gow, Baccarat and a number of other Casino Poker versions. They even have one Craps game in their portfolio.
Video Poker and other games – BetSoft may not be famous for their Video Poker games, but they actually have 26 of them, which is double that of what most competitors offer. Some of those games allow you to play more than a dozen hands at the same time. Graphically these games are nothing special, however.
Beyond that BetSoft offers Keno, scratch cards and games such as Virtual Racebook 3D that you can usually find in the ‘other games’ section at online casinos.
BetSoft is one of the few online casino software developers that offer quite a number of progressive jackpot games instead of just a handful. Most of those games are also part of their 3D range and thus quite well executed with compelling gameplay.
Some of their titles include:
Many of these progressive jackpots offer handsome 5-digit wins, though with The Glam Life and The Mega Glam Life you easily reach six and seven figures.
Just like many progressive games, the RTP for these slots tends to be below average and we don’t know much about big wins on any of the slots.
The Glam Life was subject to some controversy last year when a player hit the jackpot feature during the free spin bonus, but was not paid out due to some previously unnamed stipulation that the jackpot will not pay out during any bonus game.
Playing BetSoft Games mobile is not a problem at all. The company started developing their games for mobile use in 2012, which means they were well ahead of the game in terms of mobile gambling. The developed their own ToGo™ line of mobile games, making many of their favourite titles available for mobile players. The market continues to grow and BetSoft ensures that many of their games are available across platforms.
That means, of course, that their games are optimised for Android and iOS as well as Windows devices. Their ToGo™ games have been developed to offer graphics just as stunning as you get them on the bigger screen, making these games very enjoyable to play.
