Online Gambling Companies among the Winners at 2016 Global Gaming Awards

Online gaming companies were one of the dozen award recipients at the 2016 Global Gaming Awards ceremony that was held in Las Vegas this week. The award categories spanned over both digital and land-based casino companies and the entire ceremony was powered by the American Gaming Association, Gambling Insider and G2E Vegas.

The recipients were chosen after a thorough review process by a jury of 60 judges coming from every corner of the gambling industry, while the audit was done by KPMG Gibraltar.

The award for the Digital Operator of the Year went to 888 Poker, who took over the title from last year’s winner Poker Stars. This was also the first GGA award received by the 888 Holding company. On the other hand, the title for Digital Product of the Year went for the second consecutive year to Microgaming, mostly due to the success of its Quickfire platform.

Other first time winners at the GGA awards were Playtech, who took home the title of Digital Industry Supplier – an award the company also competed for last year, as well as Unibet, who won the Digital Acquisition Program of the Year award.

The last digital award at the ceremony went to NYX Gaming, who won the title of Digital Gaming Innovation of the Year for their Witch Pickings – a slot game that comes with a unique bonus engine where players can get nearly limitless combinations.

Other notable awards from the ceremony went to Scientific Games, who were awarded the title of Land-Based Gaming Innovation of the year for SG Universe – a multi-platform gaming solution that is currently used by more than 120 casinos.
